In case you didn’t know, 14th December is the designated day of the year to celebrate all things simian – it’s Monkey Day! You may have an excuse to flaunt our evolutionary cousin’s simian virtues, however we highly recommend to treat this day less of making fun but more on raising awareness about animal rights and fragility of this species.
Sydney’s Taronga Zoo released a footage of a male infant François’ Langur monkey named Nangua being cared for by his mother. Considered as endangered species, François’ Langur monkeys are “born with bright orange fur that gradually darkens as they age“. Nangua is a Mandarin word for pumpkin.
