Wikipedia founder Jimmy Wales justifies the actions taken of that online encyclopedia in response to the black hat editing wherein editors attempt to exhort money to targeted people and businesses. It has blocked 381 fraudulent editor accounts in response to this case.
Wikipedia is collaborative effort of people trying to organize information for all of us. To quote Wales: “Everything about Wikipedia is free.” The platform should not be used for paid advocacy, marketing ploys and other maneuvering to bring any individuals down.
It’s only right that Wikipedia should impose strict rules with regards creating entries as well as remove the articles created by fraudulent editors. Wikipedia is not an online platform to express you freedom of speech but a source of information – an encyclopedia.
